Individualized Leadership or Life Coaching Plan ™

The starting point for a coaching relationship can vary widely depending on a variety of circumstances. The outline you are reading here is generally intended to be used when the process begins with exposing a group of individuals, perhaps within a single company, to the “Derek” Leadership Assessment Profile™ or “Derek” Learning Assessment Profile™ In that group setting, individuals initially explore The DNA of Leadership as a group and complete some self-assessments.

Once the assessments are taken and collected, the Personal Coach will develop an Individualized Leadership or Life Coaching Plan. The ILCP is developed and reviewed for each client. Following the ILCP process, the plan is reviewed and a designed time frame is established between the Personal Coach and client. While an individual is ultimately responsible for their own personal and professional development, the partnership of the coach provides a significant resource to help the client shape their goals and progressively move toward them. During the course of the coaching relationship, the Personal Coach brings clarity to the following important areas:

  1. Helping the client develop an accurate self-assessment of their needs.
  2. Crafting personal and professional development goals that will result in achieving the desired outcomes.
  3. Understanding how the core principles apply to achieving these goals and using a variety of tools to ensure that progress is being made.

As this personal coaching process unfolds, specific client needs will evolve and can be worked on in the context of this coaching relationship. Examples of areas where the client and Personal Coach may spend time would include:
